Hoover is a suburb of Birmingham. In 2000, the population was 62,742 with an estimate of almost 68,800 by 2006. It is one of the three cities in the Birmingham-Hoover-Cullman metropolitan area. The addition of an interchange of I-459 and I-65 brought major changes for the city. The Galleria significantly increased the tax revenue for the city.
