Three horse tracks are located in Lexington.

  • Keeneland - live races in April and October which began in 1935
  • Red Mile Harness Track - oldest horse racing track in the city, horses pull carts in a harness race
  • Kentucky Horse Park - This track opened in 1978 and is a working horse farm and also contains an education park. Some of the world's greatest horses have retired here and it will be the host for the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
