One major segment of that is the seafood industry, including: blue crab, menhaden, oysters and striped bass. There are plenty water fowl which contributes to sportsmen and tourism. The agricultural segment of Maryland, includes: cucumbers, muskmelons, sweet corn, squash, tomatoes, watermelons and peas. Tobacco is also a cash crop in the state.
Numerous colleges are located in the state and a good number of sports teams including the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles to name a few.
