New Hampshire Moving Quote

New Hampshire is located in the northeast part of the United States in the area known as New England. It was one of the original thirteen colonies. New Hampshire is known for being the home of the first US presidential primary. The state is known as "The Granite State". Concord is the capital and Manchester is the largest city with a population of 1,235,786 in 2000. The state covers 9,359 square miles. The highest point in the state in Mount Washington at 6,288 feet and the lowest is where the state borders the Atlantic Ocean.

There are many recreational attractions like skiing and other winter sports, the fall foliage, cottages on lakes around the state and various motor sports events.

New Hampshire has warm, humid summers and cold, wet winters. Precipitation is fairly consistent through the year. The Atlantic Ocean helps to moderate the weather near the coast. As you move inland, the humidity lessens and the temperatures become cooler. Cold and snowy winters are common and can be severe in the mountains. The state can get between 60 and 100 inches of snow with an average of 40 inches. There is some variation in the mountains. Summer temperatures are between 50 and 80 degrees, while winter temperatures are between 0 and 34 degrees.

Hurricanes are occasionally a concern for New Hampshire. By the time the remnants of the storm reach New Hampshire, the brunt of the storm has subsided and only torrential rain and winds remain.
