The winters are slightly warmer and the city's precipitation is fairly consistent throughout the year. July is warm with average temperatures of 68 to 87 degrees. January is cold with temperatures between 22 and 33 degrees.

Toledo has been a home to industrial manufacturing for many years, but these businesses have declined over the years. In addition to the glass companies and auto parts companies, the Big Three automakers have factories in Toledo. The University of Toledo has become a large employer in the city.
