Charleston Navy Yard was used for Navy ship building and a repair facility. The
Navy Yard is located along the Cooper

1909 to 1996 when it was leased to Detvens Shipyards, Inc. Twenty one

the original base is being used to create an urban hub called The Navy Yard.
