Tennessee Moving Quote

Tennessee is located in the southern Unites States. Its known as the “Volunteer State” and earned that nickname during the War of 1812 because their volunteer soldiers played a key role in the Battle of New Orleans. Nashville is the capital and Memphis is the largest city. The state is 42,169 square miles and has a population of almost 5.7 million.

There are three regions in Tennessee, they include:

  • East Tennesssee – This area has high mountains, including the Great Smoky Mountains, and several other mountain ranges. There are also numerous tributaries which flow together to form the Tennessee River. You’ll find fertile valleys and wooded ridges in eastern Tennessee.
  • Middle Tennessee – This area has flat topped mountains which are separated by sharp valleys. High tobacco production is common within this area. You’ll find rich, fertile farmland and high diversity of wildlife.
  • Western Tennessee – There are rolling hills and streams in western Tennessee. You’ll find lowlands, flood plains and swamp land.

Within Tennessee, there are eleven areas in the National Park Service and many colleges and university. There are a number of sports teams in the state.

The summers in Tennessee are hot and the winters are mild to dool with plenty of percipitation throughout the year. There is a minor amount of snow in the wetern part of the state and about a foot and a half in the mountains. Average summer temperature is about 90 degrees with cooler nights in East Tennessee. There is severe weather in the state and its in a prime location to get the remnants of hurricane activity. Winter storms can be a problem in Tenessee and ice storms can be a likely occurrence. Fog is also a common problem and especially in the Smoky Mountains.
