J O "Otto" Schulze and Otis Brown founded the town of Irving in 1903. There is a belief that the
town was named after author, Washington Irving. The name was changed several
times from 1889 until it was incorporated in 1914.

established in 1909. The population was only 357 in 1925, but the city has
